    Lupine is scientifically called lupinus and is actually a perennial flowering plant and is a member of the pea family. Lupine is a fast-growing summer bloomers that come in a variety of colors and shapes, though most of the more familiar lupine bloom on tall spikes. The Lupine plants really thrive in cool, moist environments with full sun. The Lupine seeds can be planted directly into the garden in spring, when all danger of frost has passed.
